Suspect Charged for Thursday Morning Double Shooting in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – A suspect is in custody, accused of being the gunman in a Thursday morning double shooting incident in Baltimore.

Baltimore Police Department’s Southeast District detectives arrested 30-year-old Mario Diaz from Dundalk. Diaz was arrested for the shooting that occurred Thursday in the 1000 block of South Potomac Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located 32-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Officers also observed 25-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. The victims were transported to area hospitals by ambulance.

“Detectives believe Diaz shot a 32-year-old male and 25-year-old male victims following an argument,” police said. “Officers transported Mario Diaz to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with two counts of attempted 1st-degree murder.”
