Early Morning Shooting in Wilkinsburg Leaves One Dead

WILKINSBURG, PA – One person was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Wilkinsburg.

According to police, officers responded to multiple Shotspotter alerts for the 7200 block of Kelly Street around 3:20 a.m.

“When Zone 5 officers arrived, they located evidence that a shooting occurred,” police said. “While Pittsburgh Police were processing the scene, Wilkinsburg Police located a vehicle and gunshot victim on the 200 block of South Avenue.”

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, and was later pronounced. The investigation is ongoing.
