District Heights Murder Suspect Arrested

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD – A man wanted for a July 20th murder has been arrested and charged.

According to police, 20-year-old Daquon Parris of Bladensburg was charged with the murder of 34-year-old Tremayne Crawford of Suitland.  

Last Wednesday, at approximately 10:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 3300 block of Walters Lane for a report of a shooting. 

“Once on scene, officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later,” police reported. “The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during a dispute. They were known to each other.”

Parris is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He was taken into custody in Colonial Heights, Virginia, where he remains pending extradition to Maryland. He has admitted his involvement in the fatal shooting.
