Newark Police Arrest Crack Dealer from Linden

NEWARK, NJ – A Linden man has been arrested and charged for dealing crack cocaine in Newark. According to Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave, police arrested Quasean D. Nixon, 30, of Linden, in connection with narcotics distribution in an incident that occurred on June 11.

“At approximately 3:40 p.m., police patrolling the area of Astor Street near Sherman Avenue observed a male suspect conduct a hand to hand narcotics transaction before re-entering a parked vehicle,” police said today. “The suspect, Nixon, found in possession of 13 vials of CDS crack cocaine and $860.00 of suspected proceeds from narcotics sales.”

He was arrested without incident and charged with CDS distribution, CDS possession, CDS distribution within 1,000 ft. of a school, and CDS distribution within 500 ft. of a housing complex. After obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle, a handgun loaded with ball point ammunition was recovered and detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest on June 13, 2022.
