Police Arrest Jersey Shore Snack Bar Burglar

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Tinton Falls man was arrested for breaking into the Ocean Township Pool Complex Tuesday morning

According to police, at approximately 8:21 am officers were dispatched to the Township Pool Complex on West Park Avenue for a report of a burglary that had occurred during the overnight hours. 

“This was the third reported burglary that had occurred over the past few weeks at this location.  Surveillance cameras had been installed and captured the suspect on video entering the building and removing cash.  Detectives Clune and Rhein responded and processed the scene,” police said.


     Later in the day, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and observed the suspect from the video inside the vehicle.  The suspect was identified as Matthew Murphy, 33. 

Murphy was arrested on unrelated charges and transported to headquarters for processing.  Murphy was ultimately charged with Burglary and Theft.  He was released on a summons pending an initial court appearance.
