Howard County Police Issue Stern Warning to Car Rally and Street Racers

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – Police in Howard County aren’t slowing down after ticketing dozens of illegal street racers at a recent car rally.

“What’s an illegal car rally? It typically involves a large crowd gathered for dangerous street racing in an underground movement meant to avoid police attention. That’s why HCPD and MSP will be out again this weekend to issue citations, disrupt illegal activity and keep this problem out of Howard County,” police said on Friday. “Illegal car rallies, or street racing, can result in vehicle crashes, injuries, property damage, vandalism, noise and intimidation.”

Police said they will be out and about to shut down these illegal races this weekend.

“So street racers, here’s your warning,” police said. “Many of you met our officers last weekend as we disrupted your rallies in Jessup and Savage and issued citations for illegal tint, modified exhausts, illegal lighting and other violations. We’ll be back this weekend. Best to just keep it out of Howard County.”
