Newark Police Ask Public to Help Identify Tuesday Shooting Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – One man was shot in a shooting Tuesday night and now police are asking the public to identify the male shooting suspect.

According to police, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Police responded to the 400 block of Springfield Avenue on a Shot Spotter notification.

“A man was shot by a suspect who exited the right, rear passenger door of a dark-colored Nissan Sentra. The suspect vehicle, occupied by three individuals, fled heading northbound on Littleton Avenue towards 16th Avenue after the shooting,” the Newark Police Department said. “The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.”

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect as part of their investigation. The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans, and white sneakers.
