Newark Police Searching for Female Shoplifter Who Assaulted Dollar General Employee

NEWARK, NJ – Police in Newark are hoping the public can identify a woman who assaulted an employee at a Dollar General store after being confronted for shoplifting.

The Newark Police Department issued the following statement:

Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured female in connection with an assault that occurred on Monday, July 11, 2022.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., Police responded to The Dollar General store, located at 420 Springfield Avenue, on a call of an assault. The suspect was advised by an employee that she was not allowed to enter the store due to being involved in a previous shoplifting incident. The suspect became irate and began threatening the employee, throwing the store’s products around the store, and spitting on the employee. The suspect then fled into the passenger side of a black 2011 Ford Crown Victoria with NJ license plate number K75RCZ.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect as part of their investigation. The suspect is described as 5’6” tall, with a medium brown complexion, and was wearing a white t-shirt, pink shorts, and pink hair, tied in a ponytail.
