Man Dead Woman Shot In Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Homicide Branch of the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating a double shooting that left a 35 year-old dead and a woman injured on Friday night. The gunshots took place on the 4800 block of Alabama Avenue in Southeast, D.C.. This shooting was one of three double shootings that took place in D.C. within a thirty minute time span Friday night.

Police say, “At approximately 8:55 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim and an adult female victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported both victims to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the adult male victim was pronounced dead.  The adult female victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.”

35-year-old Patrick Phillips, of Southeast, D.C. was identified as the victim.


Police are searching for a vehicle of interest in this case. It is described as a burgandy GMC Yukon Denali. It is a 2005 model. It was seen with the Maryland tags A279711.
