Newark Fire Department Battles Blaze on South 6th Street, 14 People Displaced

NEWARK, NJ – Newark firefighters battle a blaze at a 3-story residential building on South 6th Street late Monday night. According to the Newark Police department the fire at 423 South 6th Street was reported at around 10:35 pm.

“Last night, firefighters responded to a call of a fire in the 3-story, occupied residential building,” the Newark Police Department reported toda. “The fire extended to adjacent addresses at 421 and 425 South 6th Street, with 423 South 6th Street experiencing a partial collapse.”

No injuries have been reported.

The fire was considered under control at 2 a.m. Three families, including 11 adults and three children, have been relocated.
