South River Police Blotter: Here’s What Happened in July

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – The South River Police Department issued the following police incident blotter reports for events that happened in early July.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Continental Court on 7/4 @ 0716 hours – Patrol units responded to a residence for a report of a bullet found lodged in a wall. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Kenneth Nale at 732-254-9002 ext. 123.

TRASH FIRE, William Street on 7/4 @ 2308 – A patrol unit observed a trash fire in front of a residence. South River Fire Department responded. The fire was subsequently extinguished.

BRUSH FIRE, Prospect Street on 7/5 @ 1835 hours – Patrol units and South River Fire Department responded to a brush fire in a park. The fire was subsequently extinguished.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT, Terry Avenue on 7/6 @ 1221 hours – A report was taken for a stolen motor vehicle which was left unlocked in front of a residence with the keys in the vehicle. The vehicle has since been recovered in another jurisdiction. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact D/Sgt. Bernard Mackiel at 732-254-9002 ext. 106.

MOTOR VEHICLE BURGLARY, Heritage Drive on 7/6 @ 1239 hours – A report was taken for a burglary and theft from an unlocked vehicle. Cash was stolen. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact D/Sgt. Bernard Mackiel at 732-254-9002 ext. 106.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, Reid Street on 7/6 @ 1421 hours – Patrol units and EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles. One individual was treated for minor injuries.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, Whitehead Avenue on 7/7 @ 1311 hours – Patrol units responded to a report of a disturbance outside of a residence. A male was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Ptl. Paul Muszynski was the arresting officer.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, Whitehead Avenue on 7/9 @ 0824 hours – Patrol units responded to a residence for an incident. A male was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Ptl. Nicholas Swineford was the arresting officer.

FIRE CALL, George Street on 7/9 @ 0909 hours – Patrol units and South River Fire Department responded to a report of an oven fire at a residence. The fire was subsequently extinguished.

FIRE CALL, Causeway on 7/9 @ 1723 hours – A patrol unit observed pallets and brush on fire. South River Fire Department responded. The fire was subsequently extinguished.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, Old Bridge Turnpike on 7/9 @ 2126 hours – Patrol units and EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. One individual was treated for minor injuries.
