Suspect with Gun on Atlantic City Boardwalk Arrested

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department has arrested Rahmiere Shaw-Floyd, 20, of Philadelphia, for carrying and concealing a handgun while on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

At 11:46 PM, Atlantic City Police Officers Officers Christopher Campbell and Riley Flynn were assigned to a patrol in the 1600 block of the boardwalk when they observed a group of individuals walk onto the boardwalk at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

“After observing one male in the group, Rahmiere Shaw-Floyd, the officers believed he was in possession of a handgun. As the officers began to follow Shaw-Floyd, they witnessed him attempt to conceal himself behind the others in his group,” ACPD said. “The officers continued following Shaw-Floyd as they broadcasted information to responding patrol units. Shaw-Floyd exited the boardwalk and onto the beach at New York Avenue where he was stopped by the responding officers.”

Officers located a loaded handgun in Shaw-Floyd’s waistband at which time he was taken into custody without incident. The handgun was found to be fitted with a high capacity magazine and loaded with hollow point bullets.
