Woman Assaulted During Purse Snatching, Robbed in Greenbelt City

GREENBELT CITY, MD – A woman was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning in Greenbelt City.

According to police, on Monday, at approximately 12:21 a.m., officers responded to a local hospital to take a report of an attempted armed robbery.

At approximately 11:02 a.m., officers were flagged down by a woman stating that a man attempted to snatch her purse and was able to steal her phone in the 9100 block of Springhill Ln.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a white and black bandana over his face.

“The victim stated as they were walking to their car in the 6100 block of Springhill Terrace, dour individuals, two of which were armed, attempted to rob the victim. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.
