Germantown Man Killed in Rockville Crash

ROCKVILLE, MD – A Germantown man was killed in a fatal crash Sunday on the Josiah Henson Parkway.

According to police, the 62-year-old Germantown man was killed on Sunday, at approximately 4:14 p.m., 1st District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Josiah Henson Pkwy and the ramp from northbound Route 355 for the report of a two-vehicle traffic collision.

“The preliminary investigation by detectives has determined that a white Audi A4 was traveling eastbound on Josiah Henson Pkwy, when for reasons still under investigation, it was struck by a silver Ford Fusion coming from the northbound 355 ramp. The vehicles collided in the intersection,” police said.

The driver of the white Audi A4 was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the silver Ford Fusion, Noel Henry Powell, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this collision. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.
