Traffic Alert: Newark Police Warn of Traffic Delays Due to Citywide Peace Walk on Saturday

NEWARK, NJ – Newark police are anticipating traffic issues and delays during Saturday’s citywide Peace Walk.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the Citywide Peace Walk. The event will begin at Chancellor Avenue and Aldine Street in the South Ward and wind its way over a 13-mile course through all five of the City’s wards, concluding at West Side High School, in the West Ward.

Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.

Director Fragé thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
