Hyattsville Man Arrested for Shooting and Killing Wife

HYATTSVILLE, MD – Police in Prince George’s County have arrested 37-year-old Orville-Dean Fairweather for shooting and killing his wife, 34-year-old Jolesia Fairweather.

According to police, on Sunday, at approximately 7:50 am, officers responded to a shooting at the suspect’s home on Maryland Park Drive in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. 

“Once on scene, officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital,” the police department said. “The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect shot the victim during a dispute.”

Fairweather is charged with first and second degree murder and additional charges. The suspect is in the custody of Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
