New York Fire Department Mourns Loss of Firefighter

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own who was killed Friday in a tragic accident. Fire officials said the 19-year-veteran and father of two died in a fall.

“It is with deep sadness that the FDNY Foundation joins the FDNY in mourning the tragic passing of active FDNY Firefighter Joseph Mulvey of Engine Company 325. Firefighter Mulvey passed away on Friday, August 19. Firefighter Mulvey was a 19-year veteran of the department,” the agency said today.

Joseph Mulvey’s passing on Friday, August 19, has been publicly announced by Christopher T Jordan Funeral Home Inc in Island Park, NY.

According to the funeral home, the following services have been scheduled: Visitation, on August 24, 2022 at 7:00 p.m., ending at 9:00 p.m., at Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home, 302 long Beach Rd, Island Park, NY. Visitation, on August 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., ending at 4:00 p.m., at Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home, 302 long Beach Rd, Island Park, NY. Visitation, on August 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m., ending at 9:00 p.m., at Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home, 302 long Beach Rd, Island Park, NY. Service, on August 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal R.C. Church, Parkside Drive, Pt., NY.
