Car Crashes into Long Island Home, 20-Year-Old Driver Arrested

New York, NY- at around 2:45 AM, a car hit the side of a condominium on Long Island Thursday morning.  The vehicle, a 2019 Volkswagen Golf, was driving on Fulton St in Farmingdale when it went through a fence and crashed into a home at Stratford Green.

The car crashed into the living room of Steve the home of Steven Laiosa while he and his wife were sleeping upstairs.

The condominium was excessively damaged as the vehicle ended in the family’s living room near their kitchen. The driver of the vehicle survived but fled. The homeowner grabbed the suspect, but the suspect was able to free himself and flee the scene. The police were given a description of the suspect, who was later identified as 20-year-old Calogero Messina. Messina was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Messina was charged with criminal mischief and fleeing the scene of a crime. The crash caused severe structural damage to the home. Nobody was injured in the incident.
