Mastic Fence Contractor Charged for Scamming Customers Out of $20,000

MASTIC, NY – A Mastic business owner has been charged after taking over $20,000 from customers for fence work and never providing his services or material.

Steven Vitagliano, owner of Line Up Fence Co, made verbal and written agreements to install fencing at several residential properties within the confines of the Seventh Precinct during the past six months. Vitagliano accepted payment in the form of cash or checks and then failed to do the contracted work and stopped communicating with the customers.

“This Mastic business owner has been arrested for scamming 10 customers out of a combined $20,000 and police are asking other members of the public to come forward if they also have been victimized,” police said.

Vitagliano was charged with Scheme to Defraud 1st Degree and will appear in court at a later date.

If you feel you’re a victim of Vitagliano, contact Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
