25 Year-Old Man Shot To Death in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 25 year-old man was shot to death in Southwest D.C. in the early morning hours Sunday morning. An off-duty officer found the man. Detectives from the Metro Police Department are investigating this incident, which happened on the 100 block of Xenia Street.

Police say, “At approximately 5:50 am, an off-duty Metropolitan Police Department police officer located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at the listed location. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and discovered the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.”

25-year-old Brandon Smith of Northeast, D.C. was identified as the victim.
