Greenbelt police make arrest after strong-armed ATM robbery

GREENBELT, MD – the Greenbelt Police Department, made an arrest after residents alerted police of an ATM robbery that just took place in the area of Greenbelt Rd.

On Sunday, at approximately 11:54 p.m., officers responded to the 6200 block of Greenbelt Rd for the report of an attempted strong-armed robbery.

“As the victim used an external ATM, an adult male approached and demanded money, the victim refused. Concerned community members witnessed this robbery attempt and called Greenbelt police communications, keeping the suspect in their view until officers arrived to take the suspect into custody,” police said.

The suspect is identified as 29-year-old Ricko Damien Ford.

The Greenbelt Police Department credits community involvement in making a swift arrest in this incident.
