New York State Police Continue to Monitor and Minnewaska Wildfire

ULSTER COUNTY, NY – The National Guard was deployed on Tuesday to assist in battling the 150 acre Minnewaska Wildfire.

The New York State Police Aviation pilots also continue to provide aerial support for the wildfire that’s burning in Minnewaska State Park in Ulster County. Two State Police Huey helicopters have been working 6-8 hours per day since Sunday, dropping up to 180 buckets of water each day.

Each bucket holds up to 300 gallons.
