PGPD New 64-year-old Lewisdale man charged for killing his wife

Lewisdale, MD – police in Louisville are investigating a weekend homicide where a 64-year-old man killed his wife.

The suspect is 64-year-old Ernest Hayden of Lewisdale. He’s charged with murdering his wife, 60-year-old Pauline Hayden. 

According to police, on Sunday at approximately 11:30 am, officers responded to the 2000 block of Amherst Road for a welfare check. 

“Officers discovered the victim unresponsive inside of the couple’s home suffering from trauma,” the department said.

 She was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect murdered his wife and then fled the home. The suspect is currently being held in Washington, DC, pending extradition to Prince George’s County.

Hayden is charged with first degree murder and related charges.
