Police Seeking to Identify Man Who Abandoned Dog, Puppies at Abandoned Shelter

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – Police say a man left dogs at an abandoned animal shelter and would like to know who he is. The Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center is asking for the public’s help to identify the individual.

“On two occasions in July and August, an adult male dropped boxes of Siberian Huskey puppies in need of vet care off in the area of Howard County’s Animal Control and Adoption Center while they were closed,” police said. “This morning, he abandoned an adult dog and four additional puppies, also in need of vet care, at the driveway to the defunct Animal Welfare Society. A concerned citizen alerted Animal Control, who took custody of them.”

The man, who sometimes wore a mask, and his vehicle, a white SUV, were captured on video. Anyone who recognizes him or otherwise has information should contact HCPD at 410-313-STOP or HCPDcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov.

Possible charges include abandonment and cruelty due to failure to provide veterinary care.
