Woman Charged for DWI in Wildwood Crest

WILDWOOD, NJ – Summary: On Sunday, August 28, 2022 at approximately 7:20pm, officers from the Wildwood Crest Police Department responded to the 5800 block of New Jersey Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Officer McInerney observed the accused, Sandra Vogel, standing outside of her vehicle.

Vogel allegedly struck a parked vehicle, causing heavy damage to it while attempting to back her vehicle into a driveway. Further investigation by officers revealed that Vogel was intoxicated, at which time she was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Vogel was transported to Wildwood Crest Police Headquarters for processing. During the booking process while at police headquarters, Vogel assaulted Officer Auch by striking him in the chest. Officer Auch was not injured during the assault.

Vogel was charged with Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Obstructing Administration of Law, Disorderly Conduct, Driving While Intoxicated, as well as additional traffic summonses issued for Driving While Suspended, Reckless Driving, and Unlicensed Driver.
