Man Rescued from Hillside Mishap in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA – Pittsburgh police and firefighters searched this weekend for a male who was reported missing in the city. According to police at approximately 7:40 a.m, the bureaus of Fire, EMS, and Police responded to the 3000 block of Oakley Way for an older male who was reported missing overnight and had fallen down a hillside.

Rescue crews arrived and quickly went into action.

“EMS Rescue and Fire performed a tricky rope rescue, rappelling down the rock wall with the Stokes basket to get the patient safely on the ground to the physician waiting on scene,” the Pittsburgh Police Department said.

Medics transported the man to the hospital in stable condition.
