HOLMDEL, NJ – Police in Holmdel had to suspend the pursuit of a Porsche suspected in multiple burglaries and thefts in the area after the driver of that car drove in excess of 90 miles per hour through residential streets, according to police.

“Earlier this morning a Holmdel Police officer spotted a gray Porsche SUV that was suspected of being involved in attempted car thefts and burglaries,” the Holmdel Police Department said on Monday. “The officer attempted to stop the Porsche, but the driver took off at high speeds. As the officer pursued the Porsche headed towards the Garden State Parkway, the NJSP and surrounding police departments were notified. During the pursuit the Porsche was traveling at speeds exceeding 90MPH on residential streets throughout the south side of town.”

Due to the high degree of risk to the community created by this pursuit, and in compliance with the NJ Attorney Generals Vehicular Pursuit Policy, the pursuit was terminated by a police supervisor.

The Porsche was last seen traveling northbound on the Garden State Parkway.
