Two Injured, One Critical After Pedestrians Struck in Absecon

ABSECON, NJ – Police in Absecon are investigating after two people were struck by a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old man from Ocean County.

According to police on Wednesday, the two pedestrians were injured just before 11:00 PM.

Officers responded to the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 30 (Absecon Boulevard) by the Royal Lodge for a motor vehicle crash involving two pedestrians. Investigators learned that a 2019 Subaru Outback, operated by Alan Sitnik, 74, of Manahawkin, NJ was traveling west on U.S. Route 30 when the crash occurred; the pedestrians were in the roadway.

“The investigation is on-going,” police said today, “The circumstances surrounding those pedestrians in the roadway is currently under investigation. Investigators are seeking help from the public for those who may have witnessed the crash or any activity prior to.”
