Woman Fell Off Waterfall in New York State, 150 Foot Drop

ONEONTA, NY – The New York State Police today said a woman fell from the top of the waterfall down about 150 feet into a gorge below on Saturday.

State troopers credited a multi-agency team effort to return the hiker to safety.

According to police, troopers at Richfield Springs were called to help assist a Cherry Valley Fire Department rescue team with a woman who fell from a waterfall and down about 150 feet into a gorge near County Road 50.

“Troopers, Cherry Valley, Springfield, Oneonta, and Otsego EMS were able to help pull her out. She was airlifted to Albany Medical Center and was later released,” police said.
