Atlantic City man charged for fatal hit-and-run

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Police in Atlantic City have announced that a 26-year-old man has been charged for striking and killing a 76-year Old Atlantic City resident in a hit-and-run crash that took place on Sunday.

According to police, Harris L. Jacobs, 26, was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash that caused the death of Orlando Fraga.

The incident took place at approximately 3:35 A.M. on the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey, while operating a white 2016 Toyota 4 Runner.

“The defendant is charged with 2nd Degree Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash resulting in the death of Orlando Fraga and was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing,” police said. This fatal crash investigation was a cooperative effort by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.”
