Running gunshot victim collapses as police respond to shooting

BALTIMORE, MD – A Baltimore police officer heard gunshots during a business check on Harford Road and immediately ran towards the sound of gunfire. As the officer approached the city where the gunshots were heard, he saw a man bloodied, running toward him.

The man collapsed and fell to the ground in front of the officer. The officer immediately began conducting basic life-saving services until paramedics arrived on the scene.

The victim was a male, age 23, and was shot in the abdomen. He was treated at the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the victim is expected to survive.

The incident happened at about 1:06 a.m. at the 2300 block of Harford Road.

On September 29, 2022 at approximately 1:06 a.m., an Eastern District patrol officer was conducting a business check in the 2300 block of Harford Road when he heard gunshots.

The officer immediately made his way towards the shots when he saw a male running, and then collapse in the 2100 block of Harford Road.

Eastern District shooting detectives are investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2433.
