Fire damages home in Manahawkin overnight

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – Stafford Township firefighters battled an overnight blaze at a home in Manahawkin Wednesday morning. According to the Stafford Police Department, a 911 call was made reporting the fire at around 1:37 am in the Coves section of Beach Haven West in Manahawkin.

According to police, “Due to the nature of the incident Stafford Township EMS, Barnegat Fire Company, and a FAST Team from Forked River Fire Company were also dispatched on the initial alarm. Upon arrival, the residence was found to have an exterior fire that had extended into the attic. Due to the amount of fire on arrival, the incident commander special called above the first alarm an engine company from Eagleswood Fire Company.”

The fire was brought under control after three hours.
