Pedestrian killed by construction vehicle in Midtown Manhattan mishap

NEW YORK CITY - NYPD police cars.

NEW YORK, NY – A tractor-trailer being used for a construction job in Midtown Manhattan struck and killed a man walking along West 44th Street and 8th Avenue around 11:30 a.m. The man, identified only as being in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The New York City Police Department did not say how the incident happened but said that the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene during the police investigation.

At around noon, police closed off the area to traffic, and the man was lodged underneath a blue Kenseal box truck.

Kenseal is a wholesale Construction product Distribution Company the sites across the country.
