ROCKVILLE, MD – Gunshots rang out in the area of Twinbrook Parkway Friday night. Responding police officers found evidence of a firearm discharged in the 12900 block of Twinbrook Parkway.

Reports of gunshots were made to the Montgomery Police Department at around 9:20 pm.

“Upon arrival, the first responding officer on scene observed the suspect carrying a black handgun with an extended magazine down by his side. As the officer stopped his unmarked vehicle, the suspect raised the gun towards the officer,” the department said today. “The officer began to get out of his car, announcing his presence, and ordered the suspect to put down the gun. The suspect dropped the gun and ran away from the scene.”

The gun was located, but the suspect was able to flee. He was described as a black male, approximately 30-years-old, with short black hair. He was wearing a baseball hat, black jacket, and blue jeans.
