One of New York City’s subway green goblins arrested, then set free

NEW YORK, NY – One of the women dressed in green leotards who attacked and beat two subway riders in New York City has been arrested. Known now as ‘the green goblins’, police are continuing their investigation to identify the other women in the viral video from earlier this month.

Four suspects were identified on Friday, Ciante Alston, Mariam Cisse Issouf, Dariana Peguero, and Emily Soto.

Mariam Issouf, 26, was arrested Monday for the October 2nd assault on a NYC subway train at the 42nd Street and Times Square station. She was later released.

John Russo, Issouf’s attorney, said his client is innocent.

“My client was not involved in any fight. When the train reached the next station, she is seen exiting and saying she wants nothing to do with the violence inside the train,” Russo said in a Fox News interview. “She surrendered herself as soon as the police contacted her. As of today, she is the only one to come forward.”

Issouf can be seen in the video saying, “I’m getting off” and departing the train as the fight broke out.
