Three suspects charged in Saturday morning shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA – Three males were arrested by the Pittsburg Police Department Tuesday morning after a brief foot pursuit in the area of Fleury Way in the Homewood section of the city. According to police, zone five officers observed the three males walking away from a shooting scene on Kelly Street.

According to a police report published Tuesday night, Alexander Clark, Daireeus Rainey, and Robert Walls fled from police officers as they approached the three suspects.

Detectives used nearby surveillance video footage to determine that the three men were involved in the prior shooting. A police K-9 was able to recover three guns discarded by the suspects and believed to have been used during the shooting.

The male victim of the shooting was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. According to police, the city’s ShotSpotter gunfire detection system registered 13 shots fired.

Clark, Rainey and Walls face multiple charges including aggravated assault, criminal attempt homicide and criminal conspiracy to commit homicide.
