Pedestrian struck and killed Wednesday morning in Blackwood

BLACKWOOD, NJ – A 43-year-old was struck and killed while walking across the road near Blackwood-Clementon Road and Woodrow Avenue at around 10:10 am on Thursday.

According to Blackwood Police Department Captain Justin Mastalaski, a 2022 Freightliner box truck was turning onto Blackwood-Clementon Road when it struck a pedestrian crossing.

43-year-old Shavon D. Stevens was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed,” Captain Mastalaski said in a report provided to the media today.
