The alleged Waukesha, Wisconsin, Christmas parade killer piled boxes obscuring himself from camera view Monday after the judge once again sent him to another room for hindering proceedings.

Darrell Brooks’ defense was rested Monday, but he disruptively argued with Judge Jennifer Dorow as he had on previous days, accusing her of holding him in contempt before she had him removed from the courtroom to participate remotely. He later stacked cardboard boxes in front of his viewing monitor in that room, dropped documents, and Dorow said she could hear him seemingly yelling “at the top of his lungs.”

Dorow said she denied Brooks’ request to return to his jail cell. He is on trial for 67 charges after allegedly driving a vehicle into the Waukesha Christmas parade, with six people losing their lives and many others being hurt.

Brooks listed his mother as a witness, but she did not testify. She had predicted in a pre-trial interview with WTMJ that he would look “manic” while defending himself.

Brooks has acted in disruptive fashion and been taken out of the main courtroom on many occasions during the weeks-long trial. Dorow said Friday that calling the trial case the most challenging of her career “would be an understatement.”

Brooks banged his fist on his courtroom table and stared at Dorow aggressively that day. She subsequently called a break, admitting, “Frankly, it makes me scared.”

Closing arguments are set to take place Tuesday, according to ABC 7 Chicago. Dorow said the jury would “take some time” to reach a verdict “due to the sheer volume of counts in this case.”
