A 71-year-old man who was beaten and knocked out by a 15-year-old boy in Manhattan last month has died in the hospital, police reported today.

Brad Boonshaft got into an argument with the teen on September 15th that resulted in the teen punching Boonshaft multiple times in the face until he lost consciousness.

He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital for serious head trauma. Boonshaft had been in intensive care since his assault. He died Sunday from his injuries, hospital officials disclosed.

The teen was originally arrested and charged with assaulting a person over the age of 65, but more serious charges could be pending.
