New Jersey man arrested for pulling rifle in Wawa parking lot

MONTGOMERY TWP, NJ – Police in Montgomery Township are investigating after a man allegedly pulled out an AR-15-style rifle in the parking lot of Wawa located on Route 206 in Montgomery Township. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots, but police had not confirmed that report at this time.

As a result, Joshua A. Kinney, age 27 was identified in the 3:00 am incident.

Police tracked Kinney to a home on Zion-Wertsville Road in Skillman. The Somerset County SWAT team set up a perimeter around the home and made contact with Kinney via phone. Kinney exited the home without incident and was placed into custody.

Detectives located the AR-15 rifle and high-capacity magazines in a wooded field near Spring Hill Road. They also discovered that Kinney crashed his vehicle after leaving Wawa on his way home. A concerned relative in the home notified the police shortly after his arrival.
