Pomeroy man charged with murder of father, gross abuse of corpse

ATHENS, OH – The Athens County Prosecutor’s Office has announced the arrest of Brian Hart, 32, of Albany, for the murder of his father, 54-ear-old Brian Swart.

Hart allegedly killed his father on Saturday and according to the indictment against him, allegedly treated the corpse “in a way that would outrage reasonable community sensibilities.”

He was indicted by a Grand Jury on Monday.

Hart was charged with aggravated murder, an unclassified felony, two counts of murder, also unclassified felonies, gross abuse of a corpse, a fifth-degree felony, and having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony.
