Atlantic City man charged for armed home invasion in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN – A man who broke into an Absecon home and confronted a sleeping resident inside the home at gunpoint has been arrested.

Douglas D. DeBerry, 24, of Atlantic City, has been arrested and charged with first-degree armed robbery, assault, and other related charges after breaking into a residence inside the Clayton Mill Run Apartment Complex on October 28th.

The home invasion was reported at around 2 am.

“Investigating officers learned that a male had forced entry into an apartment and confronted the resident with a handgun. The resident was asleep when the intruder entered the dwelling. The suspect fled prior to the arrival of officers,” the Absecon Police Department said in a statement.

DeBerry was arrested on Sunday.
