Man shot on Main Street in New Rochelle in broad daylight

On November 8th, 2022, at about 1:12pm, New Rochelle Police received a call of shots being fired in front of 345 Main Street. Responding Officers located one victim with multiple gunshot wounds, conscious and alert, on the public sidewalk in front of 345 Main Street.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Police responding to reports of multiple shots fired on Main Street in New Rochelle arrived on the scene Tuesday to find a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police were called to 345 Main Street at around 1:12 pm to find a 22-year-old man lying on the sidewalk, bleeding but conscious and alert.

“Officers rendered first aid, and New Rochelle Fire and EMS personnel arrived and continued life-saving measures,” the New Rochelle Police Department said. “The victim, a 22-year-old male from Mt Vernon, NY, was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he is listed as in stable condition.”

The victim’s name was not released, but detectives believe the shooting was targeted against the victim.

No suspects have been arrested or identified at this time.
