PHILADELPHIA, PA – Criminals have been targeting residents in Philadelphia at local gas stations in recent months as the number of people robbed while getting gas or parking at gas station convenience stores is on the rise.

Detectives are now investigating another armed robbery at a gas station.

On Saturday, a West Philadelphia Sunoco station was targeted.

“It happened around 1:00 AM in the parking lot of the Sunoco gas station located at 52nd and Spruce Streets,” the Philadelphia Police Department said. “Two men were getting into their parked car when three assailants jumped out of another vehicle and robbed the men at gunpoint.”

The offenders, with a fourth person acting as the driver, fled and were last seen south on Spruce Street. The victims were not injured.
