Utica police make arrest in murder of Kaeron Henderson

UTICA, NY – The Utica Police Department has announced an arrest has been made in the murder of twenty-four-year-old Kaeron Henderson.

Dontay Horning, 20, was arrested by police and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Utica police officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of 1506 Whitesboro Street. Upon their arrival, they found Henderson lying in the grass between the sidewalk and street.

Henderson was treated at the scene before being transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A witness at a nearby convenience store heard multiple gunshots before rushing to Henderson’s aid and called 911. Henderson, a father of two was described by many as a kind and generous family man.
