SWAT team arrests Columbus man wanted for murder of 15-year-old Lovely Kendricks

COLUMBUS, OH – A Columbus Police Department SWAT team arrested 18-year-old Roshawn Adkins, Jr., who was wanted for the murder of Lovely Kendricks, 15, in October.

Adkins has been a fugitive from justice since shooting Kendricks during a fight on October 10th. According to police, at approximately 3:20 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1700 block of East Broad Street.

“Upon arrival, the officers located the 15-year-old victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid to the victim prior to the arrival of the medics,” police said after the shooting.

Kendricks was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and died several hours later.

“SWAT officers arrested the 18-year-old suspect wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a teenage girl that occurred in early October at Franklin Park,” the CPD said today. “Roshawn Adkins Jr. was taken into custody last night and is charged with murder in the death of Lovely Kendricks.”
