Suspect on the run after police find body in Columbus pond

On November 23, 2022, a citizen alerted law enforcement that a person was in the pond at Wilson Road Park.

COLUMBUS, OH – Police have charged John Ferry for the murder of Robert Marsh III, whose body was found in a pond inside Wilson Road Park last Wednesday.

Ferry, according to police, was involved in an earlier altercation with Marsh.

At around 10:30 am, Columbus Police Department officers responded to the park after the report of a body in a retention pond. EMTs from the Columbus Fire Department declared the man deceased.

An investigation determined that Marsh was assaulted by Ferry, causing fatal injuries. At this time, Ferry is a fugitive at large.
