Two shot in broad daylight in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Two men were shot in Atlantic City Wednesday afternoon in the area of the 400 block of Indiana Avenue, according to the Atlantic City Police Department.

At around 2:29 pm, gunfire cracked the silence in the neighborhood just a few blocks from the Atlantic City Convention Center. When officers arrived on the scene, they found spent shell casings and evidence of gunfire in the area of Trinity Avenue but did not locate any victims immediately.

During their initial investigation of the area, officers located two victims. A 42-year-old man from Somers Point and a 35-year-old Atlantic City man were taken to the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds prior to the officers’ arrival.

Both men were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of injuries sustained in the shooting. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
