Online iPad sale turns into armed robbery in Jessup

JESSUP, MD – Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 2300 block of Terrapin Crossing in Jessup on December 21, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m. The victim stated that he listed an iPad for sale on Facebook Marketplace and made contact with the suspect.

After arriving at the victim’s residence to purchase the iPad, the suspect displayed a handgun, struck the victim in the face with the handgun, and took the iPad before fleeing. As stated by the victim, the suspect arrived in a gray Kia Optima sedan driven by an unknown accomplice.

The suspect was described as a black male, tall, thin build, last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, black athletic pants with a white stripe down the side, and a light-colored face mask.
