Philadelphia armed robbery crew fails to take ATM at 52nd Street gas station

The police are investigating a gunpoint robbery in West Philadelphia’s Parkside section.

Philadelphia, PA – Detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating a botched armed robbery by a crew of thieves on 52nd Street Tuesday morning.

A four man crew entered the business and attempted to steal an ATM machine, but their big job failed as they left empty handed.

Police are investigating a gunpoint robbery in the Parkside section of West Philadelphia. At approximately 2:30 am, two vehicles pulled up to the 52nd Street Gas Station located at 1501 N 52nd Street.

Four males exit the vehicle and enter the convenience store. In addition to pointing a gun at the store clerk, two others attempted to gain access to the ATM while another man stood guard, but were unsuccessful. Having failed to gain access to the ATM, the offenders fled the scene.
